This was a fun trip with Jean, Julie, and Tricia in November.
Our first excursion was to Rooftop Landing Reindeer farm where we got to pet and feed Santa’s reindeer! They are such beautiful animals. Their fur is soft, and they love to eat lichens. We got to feed several of the reindeer, who happily ate from our hands.
In Frankenmuth, we visited our favorite places:
Bronner’s CHRISTmas Wonderland is always a must-see first stop. It’s the World’s Largest Christmas store! This place is so big, you have to pick up a map when you walk in. We stop by for a few hours the first day, where we wander aimlessly, taking in all the Christmas cheer. You have to look in every direction including up to see all the fantastic decorations. We always try to visit again on another day. Amazingly, we see totally different items and have a different experience every time we visit. With over 50,000 items to choose from, you’ll never see them all in one short visit.
Of course, we stopped by Zehnder’s for their world famous chicken dinners and pie cookies (many trips for their pie cookies!). I love how they decorate this amazing restaurant/ shops.
We also made sure we stopped at Sugar High bakery for their fabulous cupcakes. The same owners own Pasty Haus, where we picked up a dozen frozen pasties to take home with us. Yum!
In addition to all the fabulous food, we shopped till we dropped for Christmas presents and more. We shopped at Frankenmuth Cheese Haus, Birch Run Outlets, River Place (for favorites Cherry Republic and Popcorn Wagon), downtown Frankenmuth shops, and Pride and Country Village, just north of Frankenmuth.
Frankenmuth’s architecture looks like you’re in a charming Bavarian village. So it not only feels like you’re miles away from home, but it feels like you’re in another world. The charm of all the shops, the decorations, the stores, and the people make Frankenmuth a fabulous place to visit year after year! We’ve visited almost every year since 1999, and we love coming back to seeing both familiar and new things.
